Summer roses

Sunny days

Last June we went to the north as it is my favourite part of the country. It's so beautiful, everything.
There are two gardens that I like most to go and we never fail to visit them when we are on holidays.
One of them is the Garden of the Biscaínhos and the other is the Garden of Santa Barbara.

Secret

The Trio

Here you have some of the beautiful roses I found there and, as I want to share it in the Pink Saturday party, I'll post today only pink roses - I leave to another day some other pictures of those gardens.

Softness

In the shadow

So, as you can see, it's such a pleasure to go there as we can always find so much beauty. Oh, I really must show you more in the next days.
Stay tunned.

A Palace and its Park

Do you remember the kitchen I talked about yesterday? The one in a Palace ? So today I will show you a little of the Palace and surrounding Park.

The Palace was built on the top of the mountain and was one of the residences of the Kings of Portugal. Walking there is like to be in a novel of the XIX century, really beautiful.

The Park is imense, so green and nice.
On the top we are often enveloped in fog which gives us a feeling of being in a story and not in real life.

The temperature there is always softer, even if we are in Summer.

Outdoor Wednesday

'Lamp

The days here are quite hot but looks like today won't be be as dry and hot as yesterday, thanks God.
Feels good to be outside.

Nice shade

These pictures show a graden we have in Sintra, a private one that my husband restored and mantains. It's going more and more beautiful. It's very big. In our town we have some big private gardens, all of them very nice.

Outdoor Wednesday

In the begining of the month, as I was posting about a garden in Sintra ( here), I said I would post more pictures about it the following week.

I didn't because there was the most amazing double raibow and I wanted so much to show it.

So, today, I will go back to that lovely garden.

Outdoor Wednesday

Today is Outdoor Wednesday Day at A Southern Daydreamer.

Today I'll show you some pictures of a foggy and rainy day at a garden in Sintra. A very romantic one and historic also. It was built in the XIX century and it's called Monserrate.

This place is too beautiful to show just some pictures. I will post more next wednesday.

Pink Saturday

Because the days have been so dark and grey, let's put some pink flowers for this Pink Saturday.

These flowers belong to an historic garden that we have here. It's beautiful on everyday of the year, rainy or not.

So, one of this days, me and my husband went there in th rain ( ! ) and took some pretty pictures.

Aren't they nice?

One of this days I must go there again in the sunshine to take more pictures - without the rain.
