Eating chocolate and reading

Easter Tide goes on and I am delighted eating my chocolates.

I deprived myself in Lent so now I eat all I want.

It's not that we can't eat them in Lent, it's just that was one of my sacrifices, so now I enjoy this legitimate pleasure and, at the same time, I read and read, in every bit of time I have.

I'm very inclined to books of old times, not novels about those times, books that were written then. When I'm reading them I'm there and I am one of those characters. It's good also to inspire me now, for real life.

I read novels written in the 19th century and in the first decades of the 20th. Not some talking about harsh life, far from God and with low morals, for that I just need to open the television or even to look to many people. I prefer novels with characters who have the same mentality as I have. Morals are not just for some era, God expect from us a clean life whatever time we live.

So I read and feel good. And I eat chocolates as I do since my childhood. And pre teen years, when I discovered those nice books by the hand of my grandmother.  I never stopped reading - or eating chocolate. 😉

Lent is very important but Easter Time is soo good.

Thanks be to God.

Easter Adverts

There is something in the old times, when life, in spite of problems that people have them in every era, that is so delightful to me, so inspiring and that gives me peace and the will to live.

Through past decades adverts we can jump in those nice times. They are so nice.
I leave you here with some.

And chocolates, we could not miss them.

Easter vintage

It's so pleasent to see those old, vintage Easter cards, many from the beginning of the 20th century.

They are so feminine and delicate and others are just so funny.

Look at all these delightful cards. Enjoy.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Today is Palm Sunday. Here we call it Branches Sunday because we don't use only palm, also olive tree branches and rosemary.
In the procession, they are blessed with Holy Water and everybody carries his branch in rememberence of the reception Jesus had when he entered Jerusalem.
Today begins the most important week in all the year: Holly Week.
It's the last week of Lent.
Easter is almost here.
Praise Our Lord.

More Easter pretyness

Maybe a lot of you think that Easter is gone. Let me tell you the truth: Easter continues for several weeks. There is several sundays of Easter.
So, I think I may keep posting about Easter.

Here, in this picture, are mixed several festivities: Christmas, that is important all year long, is represented with the baby Jesus. My husband put this image here at Christmas time and didn't take it away. So, that means he wants it to stay there, maybe for a while.
At his feet, the olive tree branches from Palm Sunday. And now more Easter eggs, these ones given to my four girls by my sister.

And now just some more pictures from my dining room in this festive time.

Easter lunch

We had such a wonderful Easter Day.

Easter lunch

Here you can see some eggs my husband gave to me and the girls and some flowers he picked to me in the fields.

Also the table set for us and our guests.

Easter dessert

The dessert was strawberries with ice cream and a kind of biscuits and chocolate eggs.

Such a good day.ra

The day before was full of rain, which is not bad, also.
See it here?

Rain

The rain was not falling right because of the wind so the windows were all full of rain drops.

It was so nice. A very cosy saturday.

How many days to Easter ?

Myspace Countdown Clocks at WishAFriend.com

Not many, really. When I enter Lent it always looks to me that Easter is so far away. But now. Shops keep remind us that we are almost there.

I like very much the pretty side of Easter, like bunnies, chicks and ...chocolates !

But we can never forget that Easter is to be free because Redemption happened and there is no return. We are free for ever.
