Show and Tell Friday

Today I'll show you a hotpot my husband made.
The day before we had lamb so, with the leftovers, he put in a kind of stew, everything well cut, inside the pot and then put some sliced potatoes on top and seasoned it. Doesn't look already nice?
Put it in the oven to cook the potatoes and voilà.

And what about some oranges for desert?

They look so nice.

Another thing I want to show you is these lovely eggs. My husband bought them in a kind of farm shop we have here. They were so big and when he opened it here they came two yolks in one shell. I didn't see one of those for ages!

A day without rain

Dreaming with a day without rain.
I took this picture some days ago when the rain stoped for a day or two. Now it's raining again and doesn't look it will stop soon.

Outdoor Wednesday

Sintra in the middle of the fog and some sun.
Yesterday was quite sunny with some clouds.
Today is raining again.
But with rain or without, it's always beautiful.

Show and Tell Friday

A corner of my kitchen

In this Friday Show and Tell I will show you a corner of my kitchen.
It’s one of the most used bit of the kitchen because my husband is always going there to put the kettle on.

When we married, we had a traditional one, not electric, that had a wistle when the water was boiling. Later, he bought me an electric one, a rather traditional looking one. Then, the years went by and it was in urgent need of being replaced and he bought this one.

My new kettle

Another thing in the corner is the two piece to put the wooden spoon in – and other things – and the china spoon to rest the wooden one that we are using when we are cooking.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the two teapots, inseparable companions of the kettle.

An Award and a meme

Lara, from Prossigo para o alvo gave me an Award and a Meme.
The Award it's here.

It says
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

And the Meme:

6th Picture Meme!

1.Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
2.Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
3,Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
4.Tag 6 other peoples that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.

I have so many folders in my computor. So, I decided to go to the 2008 folder and choose the 6th. It was December because the 6th was the D. Then I went to the 6th picture and the result was the one above with those lovely apples.

I think I'll leave it to everybody who find it funny and wants to do it.

So beautiful

Remember a yellow rose I posted some time ago?
It was from a rose plant my mother gave me at Christmas.
She also gave me another, a dark pink one.
Look at that, I believe it's one of the most beautiful roses I ever saw.

Pork chops

As you know, I lie to post some yammy things my husband cooks. Somebody complaned that I don't post the recipes. I even told that to my husband but the problem is he, sometimes, doesn't have a recipe, just cooks and it's all. Sometimes he has, sometimes he doesn't.

So today I will post yesterdays dinner and I'll try to remember what he used to cook:
pork chops
olive oil or butter
cream
mushrooms
mustard (with the grains)
salt
onion
parsley
big potatoes
green beans
cawliflower

Now.
He fried the chops - in butter or olive oil (?).
Added the onions and mushrooms, salt and parsley.
After he fried he added cream to make the sause with the mustard.
Previousely he cooked the potatoes, first a bit boiled and then baked in their jackets.

Boiled also the cawliflower and the green beans finely cut .
Et voilà.

I think better than this I can't explain.

Pink Saturday

Because the days have been so dark and grey, let's put some pink flowers for this Pink Saturday.

These flowers belong to an historic garden that we have here. It's beautiful on everyday of the year, rainy or not.

So, one of this days, me and my husband went there in th rain ( ! ) and took some pretty pictures.

Aren't they nice?

One of this days I must go there again in the sunshine to take more pictures - without the rain.

Show and Tell Friday

I know most of us, in our Show and Tell Friday, show some beautiful objects that we have at our homes. Even so, when I was thinking on what should I show you this Friday, I had the idea of, instead, to show some of the good cooking my husband does.
He’s such a good cook that I’m always taking pictures.
So, in today’s Show and Tell, you will see some DH kitchen delights.

First, this wonderful piece of porc, roled and seasoned that he bought in his favorite butcher. He cooked it in the oven.

In the end, it tasted like ham. Very good indeed.

Look at that. Isn't it yammy?
On the other day, it was beef.

Here it is before it was sliced.

With two different kind of mushrooms.

The above one had a lot of garlic and was roasted in the oven.
It was so good, but I also liked the little ones.

And in the New Years Eve, in the night, we had lobster, a special treat he usualy buys in that day of the year.
