Where is the rain ?

The weather here keeps going sunny and summery. Most people is very happy with it but I must say, I 'm already missing the rain.

It's not that it is very hot, it's quite pleasent for the summer lovers. The problem is, for me, summer is quite tedious and depressing.

Some people becomes depressed in the winter and I feel the same in the summer.

Ah, never mind, bad things don't last forever. And to help enduring summer, we always go on holiday. So, I must have patience.

Looking through the window

This little fellow fall down from the roof and landed on this windowsill. We were so worried that he would fall again to the floor but, fortunately, after a lot of looking at us trought the window, he went on, flying like the grown ups do.

I can't wait

Dreaming about this

I'm so ansious and restless as a child: my husband is planning our holiday.
I keep remembering past years summers's holidays and I can't wait to go this year.
But I must wait a little more.
I'm always thinking about what I need to do to prepare the going, how many tshirts for this lot of people, skirts, shorts, socks and panties. I must not forget the arm bands for the little ones, to take to the pool..
And maybe I should, already, wash, dry, iron and keep away some clothes so I'll have less work when the time comes...
My mind doesn't stop.
Maybe it's the age, I think I'm going back to my childhood. I think never before I waited so much for our holiday.
Ah, the time is going so slowly!

In the picture: a scene of last year holiday. All that sea and flowers!...
I can't wait!

St. Peter and St. Paul's Day

And so I say to you,

you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church,

and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.

A corner of my home

Today I leave you with a view of one corner of my home with the roses my husband gave me and the books - mostly his books.

Two dozen red roses

Two dozen red roses

As I told you several times, my husband travels a lot.

Well, yesterday night he come from one of his trips and brought me two dozens of red roses ! ! !

I immediately took some pictures and this morning I took a load of them again but today sometimes I couldn't capture the colour so well and it come a bit orange. They are such a deep dark red but the light makes them look not so dark in the pictures. I must try again.

Well, I think you will have rose pictures for a while because I can't stop taking pictures of these roses and I will post a lot of them.

Another cake and another party

Another cake

Well, another cake.
Yesterday we went with the birthday girl and her friends to that place I told you to play. It's a place where there is people taking care of the children and lots of things to play with. They did quite a lot of playing and then they went to eat sandwiches, etc, including ice cream and cake.
This was the decoration she choose, in advance, to her cake. It was very good and they were all so happy.

Here is she with her long hair and skinny arms

and here the little one.

It was a happy afternoon, thanks be to God.

9 years old

9 years old

One of my girls is 9 years old now. Her birthday was yesterday. She took a cake to school to eat with her friends and teacher and we had another at my mother's - I think next year I will stop buying her childish cakes but they are so nice...

As you can guess, she is still on that birthday mood and very happy.
Her favorite present was a watch my mother gave her. She felt so grown up.

Tomorow she will have a party at a place we have here where they make children birthday parties. Children can play for two hours and after that, have "tea" that includes sandwiches (several), juice, crisps, birthday cake and ice cream.
This is so popular among children that they are always hopping to be invited for a party there.
So, tomorow will be a happy day.

This beautiful song

Today I wake up with this song:

I like so much this version but the original one is from Charles Aznavour and I know it from so many years ago I really can't count them.

You can ear it here by Aznavour:

More about the song here, that was used several times in movies:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_(Charles_Aznavour)

Lyrics

She
(Tous Les Visages de L'Amour)

Elvis Costello - from Notting Hill Soundtrack
Written by Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer

She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
Maybe my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell....

She, who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She maybe the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows in the past
That I remember 'till the day I die

She maybe the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I care for through the rough and ready years

Me, I'll take the laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is
She....She
Oh, she....

So beautiful.
I think it's one of the most beautiful musics ever made.
