Azaleas from my husband - Pink Saturday

When my husband gave me these flowers yesterday, I immediately thought that I couldn't find anything better for Pink Saturday.

Aren't they beautiful?

I like azaleas so much.

Being crafty - Show and Tell Friday

Pretiness

Ladies, I'm going now tell you something: I craft. Now, are you wondering, why this woman never posts about her so called crafting if she, as she says, do craft?
I will explain .
One: I don't craft as much as, for instance, Posy, Plum Pudding, Hen or other girls in the internet.
Two: I don't craft so well as the above girls do.
Three: having said the above reasons for not publicizing my modest crafting, I must say now that I'm shy about it. Shy about showing them, that is.
This year I'm decided to change that. Yes, I only do something for some minutes a day because I work outside and I arrive late in the evening so tired that I hardly can think.
Even so, I want go back so I'm going from now give you frequent news about my crafting adventures.
See the lovely wool in the above picture? I posted it last year.
Now see some progress I'm making.

Isn't that lovely? The not so good thing is, looking to the pace I'm making it it will only be ready, as my mother says, for next winter.
Yes, it's a cover for the royal knees of my husband so he will be cozy and confy when he seats with us to see a movie or even, maybe, Dad's Army that he bought for me as one of his Christmas presents to me.
As it growns only two or three rows a day, with luck, it will be ready next Christmas.

P.S.: What really boders me is, because of the strong light, it looks rather pink here, when its real colour is burgundy as you can see in the first picture.

My mother gave two rose plants at Christmas. This is one of them, so beautiful.
The other one I leave to next week.

Pink Saturday

The days have been very dark and gloomy and looks like the world world comes down in the form of rain.
I like so much the rain that, to me, is such an happiness when it rains.
Not now. Even me, I just want a bit of a sunny day to dry everything, to put the clothes in the line, to have a nice light inside our house.
So, I went to my september photographs and found this nice picture of one of my pink pelargoniums.
This will give us a bit of coulour.

Baking and Such - Show and Tell Friday

We had a quite a fair amount of baking.
My husband made that turkey pie I told before and also another with minced meat for another day and made sausage rolls, the best ones I ever ate.

And I made Bolo Vicente or Vincent Cake, a must in all Christmas because my grandmother used to make it always.
It's the one in the picture above and the same here too.

I also made rabanadas, or golden slices.

They are made with bread, sliced. We put each slice in milk, take it off, put in egg and fry it.

Then, we mix sugar and cinnamon on both sides while it's still warm. My uncle likes to eat them with honey.

Another must on Christmas time at our house - and since the begining of Autumn - is apple pie. Two big ones I made and it's already almost in the end.
Then it came the end of the year with a batch of new baking.
The amazing this is the more I bake the more I like it.
Let's see what this year bring us on baking inspiration. And I will keep you updated.

Sunday lunch

Last sunday my husband invited my mther and father to come to our house and have lunch with us again.

As a starter, my husband made avocado and mozarella and tomato, everything very well seasoned and also shrimps.

Then, it was soup, made with turkey and turkey pie.

For dessert, Christmas pudding.

We had one too at Christmas lunch.

There were two, one on top of the other, bought at Harrods, like the one we had last Christmas.
