10 years old !

Saturday, 6 of June, it was one of my girl's birthday:10!

I made a cake and it was a lovely day.

Yesterday it was her party somewhere else where there are birthday parties. There she went with her school friends. They had a lot of playing and after that it was the party with sandwiches, drinks and another cake.

Praise the good Lord. It was two wonderful days and she was so happy.

Hooked on Rain

Call me crazy, but I'm hooked on rain. The Summer, the heat, all those things most people like, I don't.

So, when today I realized that was begining to rain I could only hope for some nice good rain.

At first it was only some drops but even so the day was delightfull and fresh.

Suddenly, there was the most amazing strong rain falling down, the air was cool and everybody was looking at the window: rain !

My plants were all happy and wet.

Back to homemaking

Yesterday my big girls had their Sacrament of Confirmation. All the week was very nervous for me. Everything went so well, praise the Lord.

Today is the return to normal life. Homemaking in all fields, including ironing.
Also laundry washing, puting on the line, picking up and fold. I have already tons to fold and put away.
And cleaning and tidying up.

Well, it's better to go now.

Flaunt Your Red Friday

Two dozen red roses

I just found at Walnuthaven Cottage that Poofing the Pillows does Flaunt your Red Friday and I decided to join.
Red is quite a happy colour so I'll show you some reds in my life. I'm afraid the pictures are not new but even so I will post them.
So, here they go.

Some roses my husband gave me in different occasions.

Roses from my husband

Anthuriums given by him too.

The rainbow

My red glasses given by whom? Him, as usual.

My glasses

Ah! These it was my mother that gave to me.

Roses from my mother

This pelargonium belongs to my mother. Such a vibrant red, isn't it?

Red pelargonium

I do like fuchias. These are so nice.

And to finish, for St. George.

Rainy days

Today it's going to be a bit hot.

We had some very nice rainy and fresh days, the ones I like. But Spring is going to its end and it's time for days to go hotter, which I don't like.

I took these pictures from on of my windows.

Pink Saturday

I'm in impatient mode. Not that I'm impatient with something, it's just, as I'm crazy for impatiens and mine are blooming everywhere, I can't stop talking about them and showing it to everybody.

Now go to How Sweet the Sound, at Kimberly's, to Pink Saturday. She's hosting a party with a lot of "pink ladies".

Didn't I told you before that I'm hooked on impatiens? I can't help it.

See how nice they are. They are growing so well.

Such pretty things.

Outdoor Wednesday

'Lamp

The days here are quite hot but looks like today won't be be as dry and hot as yesterday, thanks God.
Feels good to be outside.

Nice shade

These pictures show a graden we have in Sintra, a private one that my husband restored and mantains. It's going more and more beautiful. It's very big. In our town we have some big private gardens, all of them very nice.
