Divine Mercy Sunday
I was reading a post at Posy and then went to Amanda - Posy posted a link to her - and as I read both posts I answered to the first one:
Today is not raining - or snowing - and we haven't wind - and we are a windy town! It's sunny everywhere and I'll seat and anjoy the pleasure of being at home.
Yes, it's true. Being at home it's a previlege I can't afford everyday. I mean, not all day long. But today I can because it's sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday. We went to Mass and now we are at home.
My husband is in S. Tomé doing some work for an hotel that is being built there. He called me earlier, when he was in the Mass (!!!) so I could hear the songs there and how the voices were so nice. Sounded like angels. He hardly spoke, just asked in a very low voice: can you hear it? I said yes. Then he hang off. It was very nice.
Good sunday for everyone.

More Easter pretyness
Maybe a lot of you think that Easter is gone. Let me tell you the truth: Easter continues for several weeks. There is several sundays of Easter.
So, I think I may keep posting about Easter.
Here, in this picture, are mixed several festivities: Christmas, that is important all year long, is represented with the baby Jesus. My husband put this image here at Christmas time and didn't take it away. So, that means he wants it to stay there, maybe for a while.
At his feet, the olive tree branches from Palm Sunday. And now more Easter eggs, these ones given to my four girls by my sister.
And now just some more pictures from my dining room in this festive time.

Easter lunch
We had such a wonderful Easter Day.
Here you can see some eggs my husband gave to me and the girls and some flowers he picked to me in the fields.
Also the table set for us and our guests.
The dessert was strawberries with ice cream and a kind of biscuits and chocolate eggs.
Such a good day.ra
The day before was full of rain, which is not bad, also.
See it here?
The rain was not falling right because of the wind so the windows were all full of rain drops.
It was so nice. A very cosy saturday.

Soup, anyone?
Would somebody like a bit of carrot coriander soup?
I made it. Usualy I add more potatoes and carrots then I did this time. It was good and it was much apreciated but I must say I quite prefer the way I usualy do then the one I did this time. So, next time I will not forget.
Peel some potatoes, carrots, onions and some pieces of garlic. Doesn't need to be potatoes heart shaped, lol.
The garlic gives it a good taste and is very good for the heart, blood pressure, etc.
The onion is very important because also gives a good accent to everything.
Put it to boil with a bit of salt.
Have some coriander chopped, ready to add it but for now, wait. And don't forget to have just a little bit not shoped to decorate.
When you think the potatoes, onions and carrots are cooked, add the freshly cut coriander.
Ah! Now you will feel such a nice scent...
Blend everything and when ready pour some olive oil.
Portuguese people always like to add a lot of olive oil and we put it in everything. We are used to that since we are born - well, even before, this and garlic. The good thing is we are not alone in that because all mediterranic people is like that.
Doctors say it's better to add it after and not before the soup it's cooked because the boiling of it destroy its properties. It has something to be with saturated and unsaturated fats.
Anyway. Now you will see the oil dots on top of the soup. Mix it well.
Now you may eat it.
Here you can see it with more detail.
Such easy thing and sooo good!
Now, remember all the ingredients? Here they are.
And don't forget the salt. And olive oil. Plenty.

An important week
We are in the middle of Holy Week.
Last sunday was Palm Sunday and here is my branch. Here, more then palm, we use olive tree leaves because we are mediterranic in climate and culture.
As christians, lets remember the importance of this week and why is so important.
Another thing: today is St. Joseph's Day and, because of that, Father's Day. It's good to remember the role of this saint in the life of our God.

Colours in my life - Brown
Well, I couldn't post before so, here I am now.
Maybe you will be desapointed but the surprise I announced it's ... me.
You won't see more of me then this.
Because today's colour is brown, I'm posting a bit of myself: brown eyes, brown hair.
Well, some of it is going grey but I don't wont to duy it. My husband says This is quite distinguished.
I choose this picture of my little girl to ilustrate some brown in my life becaus eI like very much this picture I took in Funchal last summer. It was in the town theather and all that brown on the doors and floor is very nice. Plus my baby's hair.
Some brownies I like so much and my husband brought me from the cafe
Belgian chocolates he gave me
These pigs I have on top of my friege, given by the same man to me
One of my beautiful chairs
Carrot cake I'm always asking my oldest daughter to make because I like so much - here without the icing but she always adds it after
And a bit of Autumn I like so much but it's now so far.
And I believe that's all about colours.
I have already two post in my head, - on another subject - one I hope to post tomorow and another in the day after.
See you next time.
